Monday, January 21

Today is the first day of the second semester. We are halfway through 8th grade. You are now closer to the start of being 9th graders than you are of starting to be 8th graders. More will be expected of you this coming semester.

Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. It is a day of observance of the great civil rights leader, who through non-violent protest was able to bring basic rights to African-Americans.

Quote of the Day: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." -Martin Luther King Jr.
