We'll be in the computer lab both Thursday and Friday. There are 3 things that we need to accomplish in the next two weeks.
1. Project on a U.S. State and a power point presentation of that state.
2. Know all 50 States, there will be a test on Thursday December 17th.
3. Know all 50 State Capitals, there will be a test on Friday December 18th.
For the States and Capitals there are numerous web sites dedicated to learning them. Many are linked to the right under the Games section.
There will be limited class time to work on these 3 things so time will need to be used before and after school and at home.

Monday, November 2
Hope your halloween was fun and safe. Sorry for not being in school today, I'm home sick. While in the computer lab today continue working on your Minnesota Project. Remember my part is due on Friday. I'm not sure about Ms. Krogstad or Mr. Kofoed's plans for the week.
So for me on Friday I'll need:
1. A 7 day itinerary including at least 15 attractions and stopping at least twice in each of the 5 area's of Minnesota: Northwest, Northeast, Central, Metro, and South.
2. A hand drawn map showing your route around the state.
For Mr. Kofoed you'll need distances travelled so make sure you get that information. And for Ms. Krogstad you'll need pictures for your travel log.
Tuesday and Wednesday we'll have a little time to work in class. And Thursday will be your last day in the computer lab. So you'll need to start finishing things up. If you have questions ask one another, help each other out. If you need to ask me something you can post a comment on the blog and I'll try to get back to you as soon as possible.

We'll be in the computer lab today. Here is a list of things you can be doing while in the lab.
1. Research on locations throughout the state that you may want to visit.
2. Find pictures for journal/travel log for Ms. Krogstad's class
3. Find mileage using mapquest, and cost of attractions for Mr. Kofoed's class.
You'll have time next week to finalize your itinerary. If you are to that point take a look at the itinerary and lay out your itinerary like it is set up in the webquest.

We'll be watching part of a video on Minnesota. It's called "Minnesota, A history of the land." You can check it out at www.historyoftheland.org
After that we'll be discussing in a group the places we've visited in Minnesota, and what was interesting about it.
Finally we'll be drawing on a map our preliminary route for our trip around the state.

Webquest
I've added a link for webquests. This first webquest is on the state of Minnesota and will be a collaborative effort between Geography, Math, Science, and English. We'll discuss this in class but just wanted to get this up so you can start thinking about it.
